Congrats on your anniversary! Would love to see an article on how/why the discrepancy came about in numbering the Psalms between the Vulgate and Septuagint.

Thank you, Dr. K., for your generous and dedicated writing. The purity and un-political stream you offer is nowhere to be found.

If anyone is reading: it’s well worth it. I need to find alternatives for donating subscriptions. So many religious need to hear from a fresh and traditional voice: erstwhile, they only learn the “party line.” But Truth is Truth, and is well worth seeking.

Ed Crow

I'm grateful for your Substack, Dr. K. You've helped me understand Tradition (and our traditions) so much better. I genuinely feel connected to the Faith and fellow believers in a way I can't explain, except that it seems truly "ever new" and not just "ancient." And with the depressing news cycles, your writing, your perspective, strengthens within me a vital hope. I'm proud to be a subscriber. Thank you and God bless you!

In spite of all its downsides, the internet does connect us with one another so that we realize "I am not alone, I am not insane - there are plenty of other Catholics who feel just as I do." This realization is dramatically presented in Episode 3 of Mass of the Ages, which I highly recommend if you haven't already seen it. It's nearing 400,000 views, which is no small matter.

Thank you. Yes I'm a huge fan of MOTA. Episode 1 moved me to come to the TLM as did Traditiones Custodes. The subsequent episodes only confirmed it (as if the Mass itself wasn't enough). I've found my forever home, as it were.

I like the "I'm not alone and I'm not insane" part a lot!

I'm an old man with weak eyes so I consider it a great mercy to have a voice

recording and a written article. As my eyes permit I follow along with the written article which helps with retaining more in my old feeble little gray cells. It looks from the survey that many subscribers don't take advantage of your reading so I understand if you discontinue this feature but I really hope you don't.

Don't worry, I will keep doing the voiceovers, because now they are also being turned into podcasts, which means folks are listening to them on other platforms too. And, to be honest, it's fun to read them aloud even if that adds a new level of work. Thank you for being a reader (and a listener)!

So you know, 10% conversion rate is really high. The average is about 3-5%.

As I admitted in my post, I know next to nothing about what I'm doing. And maybe that is just as well.

500+ paid subs is also stupendous for a first year substack. A lot of us are struggling along with 2% and a tenth that.

I look forward to our future collaborations. I have promoted and want to promote your Substack as well.

Thank you for all of your time, energy, thought, guidance, insight, and intelligence resulting in bringing me back from the brink of despair. I thank God for you and all that you do in assisting me in my quest in getting closer to my God and my Faith. I can't imagine a week without your reflections and guidance. God bless you and keep you strong in pursuing your passion which is such a tremendous aid to my growth in understanding my faith.

Congrats on making it to one year! I think, generally speaking, I've read/listened to just about every post and hope to continue doing so for years to come.

I thought I would take just a moment to share why I think the voiceover you do on the articles is valuable, at least to me. I have a busy schedule (don't we all) and I generally find that time for reading a lengthy article is almost non-existent. BUT, what has been a blessing for me is your voiceovers. I can easily make time to clear out my work email as listen to a 15-30 minute article read to me - essentially filling what would be wasted time in my day with instead an article that educates, entertains, or edifies my soul. I can tell you it is something that I look forward to each week. I hope that provides a little insight into at least how one person is benefitting greatly from you taking the time to read aloud your articles.

God bless you and your family for all that you are doing for us!

Thanks, I really appreciate your kind words, your dedication to T&S, and your helpful feedback about the voiceover. I certainly intend to keep doing it, but it's reassuring to know that it's reaching listeners who prefer that medium.

You are welcome and whew, I was a little concerned you might stop the voiceovers - which I know I might be the minority, but I pretty much depend on them!

Dr. K, I have disability that intermittently interferes with my ability to read the written word. I’m a relatively new member and supporter and am finding your narration a great blessing. I know the time to narrate is a great sacrifice. I just want you to know that I find the ones you read to be a blessing to me. God Bless you and your family.

Laura, thank you for the encouraging word about my voiceovers. I will certainly keep doing them on the "major days" (Monday/Thursday). God bless you too!

I’m always grateful for your articles. In a world of so much despair and seeming apostasy, this substack gives a clear path through the insanity that, I admit, can lead to an unholy despair. Tradition and Sanity. A perfect title for that which does seem to be a path back to Christ the King and his Mother, in their unapologetic glory. Thank you.

Thank you, Katherine!

Despair only happens when we forget the mercy of God, which is infinite and always present, just as He is always present to all of reality, holding it in being.

Not denigrating your articles, I treasure them, but often, very often, what is of equal value to me are the comments generated and your replies to them. God bless. Your reply to Katherine here is especially noteworthy.

What I like the most is the extensive research and detail, which transforms what could be a mere opinion into concrete evidence and proof, which even if there is a disagreement, must be seriously taken into account.

Thank you, Fr Hope. I am quite certain that, being human, finite, and fallible, I will not be correct about everything! But I try to make my case, as you say, in a calm and serious and substantiated way, so that it contributes to the discovery or defense of the truth.

I appreciate the regularity with which you post. Each Monday and Friday I head over to Substack and look forward to listening to your posts (and I love the audio option!). If you change the days of the week, that is no problem. I think having a regular schedule matters more than which days you select. Thank you for the consistently thoughtful, insightful, informative, soul-nourishing content.
