Beautiful chapel renovation. Thank you for sharing. It’s good to see encouraging news in such times. I appreciate how you always try to share something like this in your newsletters.

The connection you make between Pope Francis’s comments and Freemasonry is interesting. Once, I went on a “field trip” to the Masonic temple in Philadelphia for a political fellowship I did. It was a horrible experience. Four out of the ten of us left sick with headaches..I will definitely never step in one again.

This kind of syncretism Pope Francis espouses is not just heretical, it invites demonic influence.

Thank you! There is always good news, provided one knows where to look for it.

I fully agree about the demonic aspect of Freemasonic syncretism. I have never been inside a masonic temple but every time I see one, a sense of evil imposes itself on me, as if the very atmosphere around the building is pernicious. I always say the St. Michael Prayer.

I’m glad to hear your recommendation of the Ignatius Study Bible. I’ve always been a bit unsure of the RSV-CE translation, preferring the Douay-Rheims for being trusted by the Church for so many centuries. Sometimes however, the RSV-CE has a slightly more clear wording choice that makes it preferable for some academic and apologetic purposes.

Prayers for you and your family this weekend of two wonderful feasts!

For sure, the Douay is a major Catholic translation and VERY helpful for working with the Vulgate and the liturgy. But the RSV is, as you say, a more naturally worded translation and this can help a lot with the meaning of more obscure passages.

Wonderful post again. What a beautiful new chapel. I imagine it will be overflowing shortly. And thanks for the Substack recommendations- I subscribe now to most of them and am very happy I did so. Amazing, beautiful, and thought-provoking.

“ What is frustrating about being Catholic today has nothing to do with the Catholic religion and everything to do with an assortment of idiots (and worse) who are running (and ruining) the Church on earth as far as God permits them.”

Truer words and all that.

This isn't exactly related, but I think in a previous post (which I'm having trouble finding), you listed resources for purchasing the various verions and editions of traditonal missals. Can you share those resources again, and maybe compare and contrast the different Roman missals? I know that's a lot to ask! Or do you already have missals listed in your online book shop?

There is so much stance in this that I you would slow so it can be better metabolized
